Holiday Golf Cart Parade (in the dark)

Indio, California:  Dave has been in Portland all week. He flew up on Sunday to attend meetings for the two track meets (World Indoor Championships and the 2016 US Olympic Team Trials) he is helping facilitate this spring and summer. I've been keeping busy.

The resort scheduled the 2015 Holiday Golf Cart Parade (i.e. Christmas Golf Cart Parade) this evening. Many campers decorated their carts for Christmas - with lights, music, garlands and sparkly stuff of all sorts... but by the time the conga line arrived to our campsite, it was far too dark to snap photos. So sad. Please enjoy photos from 2012 and 2013 instead.Before the parade, Bill came by with his power drill to screw-in an anchor for this amazing metal vintage University of Oregon sign. Our casita is looking very nice now. Thank you, Bill!

The sign proclaims the University of Oregon was established in 1876, which interestingly enough, is also the founding year of Bill's alma mater, Texas A&M.

We have noticed this little bunny hanging around our campsite over the past few weeks. Our neighbors have also reported sightings and we are all wondering if this little guy is hanging in our hood because none of us have dogs?

Or maybe s/he just likes our pansies? Apparently pansies are like crack to rabbits.

While waiting for the golf cart parade, there was yet another amazing sunset. The sunsets are like this nearly every evening.

My little chair. My little glass of wine. I waited and waited, but the parade passed me by until it was too dark to snap photos.

So sad.

Colleen snapped this photo of me (using a flash) with my mobile phone as proof I was on guard and on duty.

Until my next update, I remain, your "deer-in-the-headlight" correspondent.
