Indio, California: Another wicked-chilly overnight in the desert. DT’s tee time was delayed due to frost. Snow Bird Problems.
On my run this morning, I took this photo with my phone, looking east down the canal…
I took this photo with my phone looking west down the canal. (FYI: the view from the front of our bus is north – down a different canal – pointed directly to Joshua Tree National Park.)
No matter the direction, you simply cannot beat the views in the Motorcoach Country Club.
This afternoon our resort held the annual Holiday Golf Cart Parade, which is, of course, a Christmas Golf Cart Parade.
We were ready to watch the parade… but at the last minute, joined our also-non-participating neighbors across the street to view and cheer-on our fellow “campers” in this annual tradition.
Our neighbors – Spanky & Britt
It was after sunset by the time the parade reached our end of the resort. Please excuse my photography, as I needed a martini flash.
Santa in the House!
This guy plays the horn every Sunday at church service at the Motorcoach Country Club.
We know this because we can hear his horn from our campsite.
Nothing honors the Birth of the Savior like a plastic blow-up dog riding a motorcycle on top of a golf cart!
SLOGGER REPORT: Reader Kelly reminded me how I could adjust the stride-length on my fitbit pedometer. Thank you, Kelly! Today I walked/ran five miles, and the fitbit was right on target, as was the NIKE+ iPod thingy. 33 miles down a third of the way through the month. What? Could it be? Am I on on pace to complete 100 miles in December? Please keep thinking good thoughts – 67 miles is a lot of miles. Really a lot of miles.
67 miles, in fact.
Until my next update, I remain, your parading correspondent.
