Weekend Recap

Our guests flew home yesterday and our house is now very quiet. We had a very wild weekend - due to a terrible storm that blew-in Saturday. The weather was so horrible, Portland broke rainfall records - and that is really saying something.

Not that measly fading typhoon Pabuk could stop DT and his college roommates from attending the Oregon v Cal homecoming game. Kick-off was at 7:30p.

I have never been so happy to be home, in front of a roaring fire, watching a game on television! Happily it was another blow-out (55-16), so the boys left just before half-time and arrived home cold, wet and starving just before midnight. Miserable.

The girls had a good day. We visited an (indoor barn) farmstand before dining on Chile Colorado and watching the game.

Meanwhile, down in sunny warm Los Angeles, Little Leo helped his Mama bake kale chips before watching the Redskins beat Oakland:

The rain and wind have calmed a bit this morning, but we are left with a huge mess to clean up. So many limbs and branches have broken-off and blown around our property.

With so many Oregonians with downed trees and no electricity, I will not complain about our little mess.

Too much to be grateful for again. Wonderful friends we have loved for 40 years. Everyone is home safe and planning the next reunion.

Until my next update, I remain, your messy correspondent.
