Eugene, Oregon: The first day of competition was pretty exciting. One Duck has already made the team heading to Berlin in August, with another poised to join him tomorrow. The wind was a factor in many of the races, and it was a little chilly at Hayward Field. DT and I headed over to the track early to watch University of Oregon decathlete, Ashton Eaton, compete.

With half of the events completed, Eaton, who is a only a junior at Oregon, is four points behind leader Trey Hardee!
Our friend, Dustin Emrani, had a great 800.

Above, Dustin and Christian congratulate each other after the heat.
The 800m runners have to run a semi-final tomorrow, and the final is Sunday.
In his last race ever in the Oregon singlet, Galen Rupp had the crowd on their feet as he cruised to another 10000m victory.

It was a very long day at the track... followed by three more days! Oh, joy! Try to contain your excitement. Until my next update, I remain, your GO DUCKS correspondent.
