Sicko

Indio, California:  I have spent the past 36 hours getting through a rough bout of food poisoning. Such fun. The bad thing: after waiting two days for My Driver to fly out of snowy Portland, I was in no condition to meet him at the airport. The good thing: I have lost quite a bit of weight the ugly way.

I had gone to breakfast with Lisa & Leo Saturday morning at an adorable little bakery/care. Lisa decided she wanted the Breakfast Scramble. I wanted the Breakfast Sandwich. At the last minute we switched our orders - and thank goodness we did. It's one thing for granny to get food poisoning, quite another for a nursing mother to fall ill. I suffered throughout the rest of the day and went to bed at 8:30 Saturday evening and woke up at 8:30 this morning and I am feeling a little better today.

Before driving back to the desert, we spent much of the day with the kids. It is quite possible I snapped 30 photos of Leo. He was still in his jammies and in such a sweet mood (as usual).

Leo is already 5½ months old! He is virtually changing every day and is such a little charmer. He smiles and flirts with everyone! Leo has his Momma's (and DT's) mouth.

This is my usual position whenever I am anywhere near that baby.

Lenny, DT and Leo were watching football this afternoon...

... until the little guy began to get sleepy. Those sweet dimples on his hand just make me swoon.

Goodnight Grandma, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Dave and I returned to Indio in time to watch the Giants v 49er game... where I had a home-made pot of Jewish Penicillin in the freezer. Just what my tummy needed. I am trying to stay awake until 8:30p. Until my next update, I remain, your recovering correspondent.
