Indio, California: The wind storm blew over and we woke yesterday morning to completely calm water.

This resort is starting to resemble a ghost town. RVs are pulling-out every morning, heading towards home and neglected grandchildren. By the end of April, it is usually too hot in Indio for life in a fiberglass box. I suppose we will have to head to Oregon one of these days ourselves... but not until Oregon weather improves. It snowed at our house a few days ago!
The Lovely Lisa and Lenny are here for the weekend. The kids are at a nearby hotel and Reese is staying with us. And by "with us", I mean sleeping between us on our bed. Reese allows me to parade him around the RV resort, as Reese is - obviously - the cutest dog here.
Reese is sitting on my lap as I type these words. He is not spoiled. At all.
I made (and did not photograph!) sandwiches for lunch - rosemary rolls with home-made basil aioli, oven-roasted tomato slices, smoked turkey, Swiss cheese and arugula. Delicious! This gave us all energy to stroll through Art Under the Umbrellas in Old Town La Quinta this afternoon.

Lisa and I had mani-pedis in the afternoon while the guys watched golf on TV and played golf on the par-3 course at our RV resort.
We all had a very delicious dinner (with a very strange waiter) at Lavender Bistro in Old Town La Quinta. We sat outdoors in their pretty twinkly-lighted patio and came home to this guy waiting for a walk:
