Indio, California: A very busy day, considering we were not the ones being busy. We had arranged for a cleaning crew - Dynamic Interior Cleaning, 760.567.0842 - to give our poor tailgate-weary RV a deep cleaning. The team showed-up at 8 o'clock and we were forced to drink our coffee out of doors on our patio - in the sun - while a team of girls went to work on our disgusting bus. The RV was cleaned from top-to-bottom. The woodwork was oiled. The carpet, tile and shower stall were steam-cleaned. There was some sort of issue with a steam cleaning machine, so the process took quite a bit longer than usual... which meant we were still outside enjoying our coffee in our sweats and no makeup looking not so presentable when Readers Ramona and Tim decided to stop by to meet The Goddess. Reader Tim wanted to try the RV lifestyle, but his lovely wife was not so smitten... until she did a little internet research and stumbled upon my website... and... then... my website cost them a lot of money because they bought a Country Coach. Thank you, Dear RVGoddess-Heads, for being so friendly and gracious and we are sorry if we scared you with our unkempt appearance.
NOTE TO SELF: Never step outside the RV unless you are in full make-up and properly attired.
We were busy the rest of the day. We folded, addressed, stamped and posted our annual 2011 recap Happy New Year newsletter to our family and friends. Introducing our Our Darling Leo surely makes this the most exciting newsletter since the 1981 recap when Our Darling Lisa was introduced from Manila.
Every 30 years we try to excite our friends and family.
The weather in the Coachella Valley has been extraordinary since our arrival. The usual cold nights and windy days of December have given way to still days, chilly nights and days in the mid-70's. We have not seen a cloud since we arrived to Indio. Tonight we finally had a few clouds and one of those unbelievably gorgeous pink sunsets so famous in the desert.

So pretty, nearly everyone was outside their RV just staring at the sky. This sky only lasted a few minutes. Five minutes after I snapped this photo, it was dark and I'm farily sure I heard martini shakers in the background.
After cooking all week for Lenny & Lisa, our kitchen was perfectly clean and gleamingly gorgeous after the cleaners were here today, so I we decided it would be a good idea to go out for dinner tonight. Just around the corner is Rosamarillo's (Yellow Rose) Mexican Restaurant. Usually it is easy to get a table in this restaurant, but tonight (still winter vacation?) the joint was packed. We decided to take a table in the bar instead of getting on the waiting list and had a great time chatting with locals and vacationers and enjoyed delicious dinners.

SIDE NOTE: While seated in the bar at Rosamarillo, the Washington v Baylor game was playing on the televisions (Huskies LOST). An 11-year-old boy walked into the bar to check the score. This kid was way-more savvy on Pac-12 football than My Driver. The kid proclaimed The Ducks are our only hope. I don't think even Stanford can beat the Oklahoma State Cowboys. I was loving this kid, even when he told me he wanted to go to Stanford. How can an 11-year-old be so knowledgeable on Pac-12 football? His parents must be raising him right.
Until my next update, I remain, your Pac-12 correspondent.
