Our Adventure Begins

Bandon, Oregon: That dang fog refuses to lift. Mother Nature even threw rain into the scenario this morning. We left of Premier RV Resort and drove around the corner to fuel the motorhome and hitch-up the Honda.

My view from the Honda as DT hooks-up the Honda

We drove Highway 34 over the coast range, stopping to make a sandwich at the elk observation turn-out near Reedsport, Oregon.

We saw at least eighty Roosevelt Elk on the approach to the viewing platform, but only two elk were near the vista point (and they were too far away for photography). Still, a beautiful foggy scene.

On the way to our destination, we listened to the Washington Redskin v Denver Bronco game on the radio. Lenny was texting me about Washington. My brother was texting me from Denver about the Broncos. We had ourselves a little family rivalry today, and I was the referee. Lenny sent this photo of Leo, ready for the big game in his RGIII jersey:

Brother Steve and Kris sent this photo from a sports bar in Denver:

I was wearing my Washington gear today - cheering for Lenny's favorite team. We arrived to our reserved campsite in time to watch the fourth quarter on television. The Broncos won.

Which made for two very surprised people, when the manager of the RV park knocked on the door of our RV. There he was in Bronco gear; there I was in Redskin gear. Too funny! We had a good laugh, but in the end he just wanted the rent.

Kathy and Woody arrived a short-while later and are camped next door. We have weather-dependent tee times in the morning.

Until my next update, I remain, your coastal correspondent.

RV PARK: Robbin's Nest RV Park - Gravel pull-through and back-ins, full service, 30/50 amp, cable, free wifi, laundry, bathhouse, picnic tables, fire rings. They are running a special, so we paid only $45 total for two nights.
