Leo

Indio, California: Leo is here for a visit. It has been over a month since we have seen our Little Grandson and the changes are shocking.

Leo drove over from Los Angeles himself. In this photo, Leo is on the phone with his agent. Dude is 24 pounds and 34 inches tall.

Leo never stops moving.

Last year, DT and I purchased a little plastic yellow duck watering can thingy for the RV. We found it in the $1 rack at Target. Leo had so much fun "watering the plants" on our campsite today. I bet I refilled that duck ten times. Leo was soaked, but he was having so much fun - and it was 85°.

Yes, Danger Baby has a massive bump on his forehead. Crashed on a LA playground this morning and he cried for nearly two minutes.

The weather was simply stunning in the Coachella Valley this evening. Our neighbors, Lois & Steve, let us borrow their golf cart so Leo had his first golf cart ride. Leo wasn't too impressed with the golf cart, but seemed to really enjoy all the waterfalls and fountains in the resort.

Leo has some big shoes to fill?

Dinner tonight was a vegetarian chickpea soup puree, with the most unusual "croutons": broccoli florets. The recipe is from the current issue of Bon AppetitMagazine. I made the soup yesterday and used my immersion/stick blender at the stove. Tonight all I had to do was reheat the soup and boil the broccoli (Leo's favorite veggie). I made whole wheat pasta and broccoli for Leo, but he ate quite a bit of soup as well. The soup is garnished with fresh parsley and tarragon.

Leo did, indeed, say "mmmmmm" when he had a bite of a Snickerdoodle I baked for him. Little Guy knows how to make his Bubbe happy.

After a bath, Little Leo went to bed and the adults enjoyed a quiet evening outdoors around the fire pit.

I just love camping.

LET'S MOVE IN MARCH! I have challenged y'all to get out there, lace up your sneakers and walk or jog (or the exercise of your choice) at least 30 minutes - five or six days a week in March. I'm doing this for charity and my prominent backside. How's it going for you? Please comment below. Don't forget - no sign-up is required to leave your thoughts. Just type your name or nickname in the first box and comment as you please.

Saturday - my day of rest. No jogging for me Saturdays. A rest day is important. It helps prevent injury and, well... lets you rest! I logged 15 miles last week and 36 holes of golf and that's a big week for me. Even without "exercise" today, I ticked-off 8665 steps on my pedometer for 3.69 miles. I did a little grocery shopping, but I'd say about 5000 of the steps were logged following/watching-over Leo. I have a notion to let Leo wear the pedometer tomorrow...

Pedometer: 8673 steps
Miles jogged for the day/month: 0/4

Until my next update, I remain, your overjoyed correspondent.
