Leaving

Los Angeles, California: Before I start my column this evening, I have to give a big shout-out to My Ducks - winners of the Distance Medley race at the Penn Relays this afternoon.

Wheating, Fleet, Centrowitz and Barlow

The Distance Medley is a 1200m, 400m, 800m and 1600m relay. Fun and not often raced - today Matthew Centrowitz (his Dad was DT's teammate in the 1970's) ran the 1200m, then passed-off to Chad Barlow who ran the 400m. Barlow passed the baton to 800m  racer Mac Fleet and then Olympian Andrew Wheating ran a 1600m and brought the team home to victory in 9:30.69. If you ever have a chance to attend a relay event - go!

And now, back to our scheduled program...

All good things must come to an end. As much as we love the Motorcoach Country Club... our bus has wheels for a reason... so off we went this morning.

I said goodbye to the fabulous fitness center at the Motorcoach Country Club. The trainer, Tom, was so helpful. Every time I stepped on the treadmill, he turned the ceiling fan above my head to "hurricane" to keep me cool during my run.

I spent a lot of time on this treadmill. Too much time.

I think they are naming it after me.

We said goodbye to this fabulous pool... tanning pool... and hot tub. (This is one of three sets of pools at the resort.)

We said goodbye to all the pretty flowers and landscaping throughout the resort.

We said goodbye to our lovely water and golf course view... complete with fountains, flowers and palm trees.

Palm trees.

Sigh.

Did I mention the flowers?

This was our campsite.

Notice anything missing?

Us.

We hitched up and hit the road. We traded RV Paradise for this:

Until my next update, from Los Angeles, I remain, your Motherly correspondent.
