Keepin’ It Classy

On the Road Again

Track Town, USA: We arrived to Eugene yesterday afternoon and prepared for the very early (7a) (eeks!) tailgate. I sliced and diced and then we went to Marche for dinner with Mary & Captain Jim (also in town with their RV for the game, and also slicing and dicing for their tailgate) and had a very lovely meal together. And, yes, thank you very much, I had Steak Frites and bubbly. Don't know why I even bother to look at the menu. (Actually, between the four of us, three had Steak Frites.)

Sliced and Diced

We hosted a cast of thousands at our tailgate this morning and we did it without Woody & Kathy (and their motorhome) as they are in England visiting their #1, Kelsey. Kelsey's husband turned-in his PhD thesis this week, so there is a wholotta celebration happening in Durham this weekend. Congrats, Brian!

The Oregon Ducks were mercifully able to beat the Wyoming Cowboys, 48-14. The amazing Duck quarterback, Heisman candidate Marcus Mariota, made an incredible leap for a score. There are already so many Oregon track stars on the football team... maybe Mariota needs to become a long- or high-jumper?

Is this guy for real?

Yes.

Meanwhile in Los Angeles... Leo went to "Walking With Dinosaurs" at the Staples Center this afternoon with his Dad and his Godfather. Leo was super-impressed with the show! Our grandson just loves his little plastic animals - especially the dinos. Such fun!

Leo wasn't the only member of the family having an adventurous afternoon. When we returned to the RV park after the Big Win, (to spend an hour scrubbing every surface of our filthy/dusty RV) our entry steps would not deploy. Nothing. We tried restarting the RV. We unplugged. We even hit the battery disconnect button. We tried starting the bus again. We sent a text to our tech, Brian, and he suggested wiggling (high tech maneuver!) the wire in the door. Nothing we tried could convince the entry steps to pop out.

Keepin' It Classy in The Eug

No problem. My Driver rigged-up a little situation.

We are heading over to the Oregon Coast in the morning for a little R&R. Hopefully we will hit a big pot hole along our route, causing our entry steps to extend again?

Until my next update, I remain, your winning correspondent.
