Katie & Greg: a Homemade Wedding
13 August 2011 | RV Goddess
Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, Washington: A beautiful sunny day. A perfect day for a wedding! Dave and I spent the morning driving around the entire island. I will share the photos from that adventure tomorrow. Today - we celebrated a very special wedding at Bellevue Farms in San Juan Island.

The weather could not have been more perfect! The ceremony - a very short and intimate exchange of vows - was held at the waterfront and then the party moved up to beautifully decorated tables in an apple orchard!

Woody and Kathy escorting their third child to her groom. Katie was trying not to cry. She was not successful.

I titled this column "homemade" because Katie had her hand, literally, in every detail of her wedding. She has a degree in design and her creativity shined on her most-special of days. Katie screen printed the wedding invitations. She designed her wedding dress. She decorated the dining tables and made flower arrangements - set in canning jars - for the meal. Katie even made candelabras in old canning jars to hang from the apple trees. (Martha has nothing on Katie.) The setting was magical. Katie made it magical.
