Borrego Springs, California: We spent the day golfing with Woody & Kathy! Just a great day. Any day golfing in the sunshine (according to four Oregonians in February) is a great day. We golfed (again) at The Springs of Borrego course. Guests of the RV park only have to pay $35 for 18-holes! Maybe not all of our shots were perfect. Maybe the wind came up on the back nine. Maybe we all may need to go buy more golf balls tomorrow. None of this matters if you are golfing in the sunshine with old friends.

And by old... I mean both of these boys ran for the University of Oregon in the early 1970's. DT ran the 5000m, 10000m and cross country. Woody was a high-hurdler.
Me? I was just a track groupie who worked at the college newspaper.
I love me some runners.

After golf, we went to Carmelita's Mexican Grill in town for some fine margaritas and delicious tacos. A perfect day in the desert.
Tomorrow we are planning to hike up Palm Canyon. Weather permitting. Though a little rain is expected, at this time, we do not think it will be enough to stop us from hiking up into a dead-end canyon.
We hope to see some Big Horn Sheep.
Until my next update, I remain, your really-really-over-par correspondent.
RV PARK: The Springs at Borrego RV Resort & Golf Course. One of our very favorite RV parks on the west coast. Sites are large and each has a nice cement patio and picnic table. Cement 50 amp pull-throughs will full service. There are also different varieties of citrus trees all over, so you will never be lacking for a cocktail garnish in the winter. Slow wifi. Fabulous warm pool and many hot tubs - all from their own hot springs! Fitness center, library, community rooms. Regulation 9-hole golf course. Recycling. Huge fenced dog park! We are paying $64 per night for a "premium" site.
