After all the activity last weekend, this weekend was so quiet, yet industrious. I didn't leave the house. I exercised on the treadmill. I cooked. I cooked. I cooked. I snapped photos with my phone.

I started the weekend with a Manhattan.

And as an homage to
the late Marcella Hazan, I made her
Penne col Sugo di Cavolfiore(Penne with Cauliflower).
The #2 Fighting Ducks beat the Colorado Buffalos Saturday afternoon, 57-16. Mary & Steve came over to watch the game on television. Of course we served Bison Chili... which also made great burritos.

Sunday? More cooking, including a double batch of a low-fat veggie-filled Italian-inspired turkey meatloaf with...

artichoke hearts and...

roasted red peppers.

One for now, and one frozen for later.

The healthy meatloaf was oddly balanced with fatty cheddar-laden scalloped potatoes. (Four miles on the treadmill did not cancel-out those potatoes.)
Work continues on Leo's little monkey pillow. He gets a view of the canvas every time we FaceTime and every time he sees the beasts Leo makes a little "
ee ee" sound, imitating a monkey.

The biggest accomplishment of the weekend? Nothing.

There is
nothing in one entire file drawer in my office! Everything has been scanned and/or shredded. Wow, what a wonderful feeling.
Until my next update, I remain, your instagram correspondent.
