Indio to Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada: After 54 days at the Motorcoach Country Club, we pulled-up stakes and hit the highway to Las Vegas, Nevada! We had a great send-off last night at dinner with Debbie, Mark, Marci & Jim. We are going to miss our friends. And we are going to miss this:

We are going to miss our glorious view!

But when the slide rooms go in and the front step go up, that is a sure sign that the Magna Peregrinus is about to start a new adventure.

Abandoned. Empty. Forlorn.

We said goodbye to our neighbors, hitched-up the Honda and headed east on I-10.

I guess we took the scenic route.

If you call this scenic.

We stopped only once on our 300-mile journey - in Searchlight, Nevada - where we purchased fuel for the first time since February. Good thing too as at $4.09 per gallon, it cost $447 to fill the tank. Ouchers! We had lunch (I made a big salad this morning before we left Indio) in the parking area of the truck stop. Classy!

We will spend a few days at the Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort. It is another fancy-schmanzy RV park with every site privately owned (but they rent the sites when the owner is away). Our site is fairly large, but it is completely paved. No lawn.

All the hook-ups, five swimming pools, fitness center, restaurant, etc.

However, the view is a little different.

Until my next update, I remain, your Las Vegas correspondent.

RV Park:  Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort - 400 full-service paved sites. Class-A motorcoaches only. Five pools/spas. Four laundry rooms, free wifi, cable, cafe, fitness center. We are paying $72 per night with our FMCA/Good Sam discount.
