Happy Mother’s Day

I was a bit over-whelmed today. This chest cold has hit me hard. Too many tasks on my list and no energy or desire to accomplish even one... except for sleeping and drinking hot tea. Maybe I really didn't want to carry my things from the RV into the house. Maybe subconsciously I want to point that bus south, where the temperatures are above 40 degrees and it is not raining. Constantly.

One nice thing about this crappy weather? Our lilacs haven't bloomed yet! Most years we arrive home after our winter wanderings to find the lilacs finished. Not this year.

The only thing that was going to set me straight was a pot of hot soup!

Beef + Vegetables + Barley. The beef was the steak I brought home from the steakhouse in Las Vegas last week (and froze). Shallots, garlic, mushroom, carrots, celery, fresh rosemary and lots of barley. I used homemade chicken stock.

Twas yummy.

At the end of the day, everything that needed to be removed from the RV had been removed from the RV. So, it was a very unexciting Mother's Day... but someone gave me the largest flower arrangement EVER.

(That is me back there.) Isn't that just glorious? It barely fit through the door! The Lovely Lisa certainly knows how to make her Momma happy.

Lisa's real smart like that.

Happy Mother's Day!

Until my next update, I remain, your motherly correspondent.

Question: How did you celebrate Mother's Day?
