La Quinta, California: I suppose I need to apologize or explain my very long absence from this sorry blog, but I have only been swamped with two big projects, busy with wonderful out-of-town houseguests, having too much fun with our grandchildren visiting, and then the usual mundane things of life... and needlepointing and golfing. I PROMISE to catch-up, as the amount of emails and social media messages asking if I/we are okay is making me feel guilty.
We are FINE!
Over the next few days, I will update with the happenings of the past few weeks, but the most important item of news is that we are once again RVers! I mean, how can you be a RV Goddess without a RV, right? After much research, we decided to purchase the same RV Woody and Kathy are enjoying now - the Winnebago Navion (model 24D). We drove over to a dealer near Los Angeles and bought a 2024 model today! Ours has a U-shaped dinette, a queen murphy bed, and a cab-over bed for the grandkids - all on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis. Dear Reader, it is not as fancy as the Magna Peregrinus. Though I have opened every cupboard, I have yet to discover where the washer/dryer is hiding.
No dishwasher either.
It's okay. We used to "live" in the Magna Peregrinus for 5-6 months at a time. Our life has changed. Now we will travel for weeks (or a few months at a time). We can tow a car, or maybe we won't have the need. It is a smaller, simpler RV for our smaller, simpler life. The beautiful 45-foot Magna Peregrinus slept 2. Two! This little RV sleeps SIX!
We are hoping for a few epic Grandparent-Grandchildren camping trips in our very near future (Spring Break is coming up!).

It's totally loaded with every bell and whistle available, and I promise photos after we pick it up next week. Until then, thank you all so much for your emails, but we are just fine, and as I said, will update later over the next few days (my big projects are nearly finished) about what has been keeping us busy.
Any ideas for on a name for this Petit Palais? Leave your comments below.
Until my next update, I remain, your RV-owning RV Goddess.
So excited for you guys! The” Gray Ghost “ to mind!
Glad to hear that you were just busy as the long silence was worrying!
Gray Ghost comes to mind!
Congratulations!! Know you’ll love it!
Great job. I can’t wait to borrow it. I’ve always wanted to take a “road trip” to Patagonia.
Glad all is well. Beautiful new RV!
After looking up the translation of “Magnus Peregrinus” (why I hadn’t done that before, I can’t say) and taking note of the color of your new unit; I propose the name “Sterling Rambler”. I’m sure whatever name is chosen there will be many wonderful memories made.
Beautiful RV! I can’t wait to see the grand tour of the inside! Leo and Lucy and going to love traveling with you and DT.
