Quinta, California: ...I am so behind in everything that has occurred since January, and it is now March. Woody had his 70th.

Lunar New Year was celebrated with a group of friends in town who just-happened to live on Taiwan when we lived on Taiwan... or even when we didn't all live on Taiwan at the same time. Whatever.

And then, we had Lenny, Lucile and Leo here for four days for President's Day weekend... which coincided with the Riverside County Fair (aka The Date Festival). Wow, did the kids have a great time. This is a fun family-friendly fair. Not too expensive - you buy a wristband for $30 and it gives access to every ride all day.

Since all this fun, we have been busy buying/taking possession of our 2024 Winnebago Navion 24D. Everything from our 45-foot 2009 Country Coach Magna did not quite fit into our new (much smaller) RV, but we think we have everything we need to get us around with our grandkids, get us up to Eugene for all the summer track meets (NCAA's - June 5-8 at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon), and then the amazing Olympic Trials (of course, held again at Historic Hayward Field, 21-30 June). Wow, that's a lot of track and field - even for us... but we will be there. Where we go from there is to be determined.
My two major projects have been completed. I wanted to index all our travels since DT retired in 2000. We keep asking each other "when were we in Helsinki" or "when were we at The Alamo" and now it is all in a searchable document. It did take me 10 days of serious laptop-time, but it will save so much time and trouble (and possibly our marriage). And, as you may know, I make a 12x12 coffee table photo book each year. This year was quite a big year with a six-week European trip due to the World Championships in Budapest (so many photos), but this project is also finished. 360 pages.
Time to concentrate on the new RV?
Except we are heading off to Las Vegas tomorrow morning for the final Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament. Yes, Dear Reader, the Pac-12 is folding. Oregon will move on to the Big 10 Conference. (I'm too old for this stuff.) We will be staying in a hotel, per usual, as it is next to the T-Mobile Arena - and we will be attending two sessions a day. Check back for Las Vegas updates.

We I have decided to name our new RV the Petit (French spelling) Peregrinus... aka the small wanderer. She can wander all she wants, but she is still small.
You may call her the PP if you choose.
After we return from Sin City, Dave and I will take the PP new RV out for a two-night test/shake-down trip. Then we have Leo and Lucile for two weeks and will take them camping in the new RV as well. Going to wear it out the first month.
S'mores anyone?
Until my next update, I remain, your moved correspondent.
The idea of indexing our travel appeals to me. I have journals (digital and paper), calendars, and camp site spreadsheets. What format did you use?
I just made a Word document. Google document would work as well. They are searchable. Every place was listed alphabetically, then the date… and then it may say the name of a museum, golf course, restaurant, person, or any other thing that may spark a memory. (For example: When we went golfing with Ralph in Sedona, what was the name of the place we had dinner?)
Thanks. I’m doing something similar using a spreadsheet to document our campsites, with name of campground, location, dates, site # and comments.
Wow! Busy, busy, busy!
Wears me out just reading about it!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
