Los Angeles, California: There is no such thing as sleeping-in or having a lazy Saturday when there is a toddler in the house. Everyone is up early and ready for adventure. We met friends at City Hall's Grand Park. This great new park has tons of green space and a water-play fountain for the kiddies.

Leo, and his friend, Rina, ran around in the fountain for an hour or so. It was enough to exhaust Leo. He fell asleep in the car on the way home and took a THREE HOUR nap.
And so did his Momma.
The rest of the afternoon was spent playing and building castles, forts, barns and other imposing structures with the
Magna-Tiles
. These crazy plastic snap-together-with-magnets tiles are addictive and there is no end to the possible construction combinations. Bubba and Leo built another amazing fortress (and I contributed the pointy "barn" on the right).

Leo is getting to the age where he will play alone for long stretches and he is currently obsessed with his collection of small plastic animals and still likes to line them up, herd them into groups, arrange them in circles and carries at least one critter at all times.

I cooked dinner for the family tonight... but the dinette table had been converted to an ark, so we dined alfresco.

After our meal, we took another walk.

Dave, Lenny, Leo and Reese led the way...

Safety in numbers. It's a jungle out there.
