Family Day

Coos Bay, Oregon: A day hanging with family. We did a lot of eating, a lot of playing and went to the beach. It was sunny - but very windy!

We had a family luncheon in Charleston and then went back to the dock to find the harbor seals still enjoying the fish cleaning station scraps. Our grand-nephew thought this was the greatest thing!

We went to Whiskey Run Beach, which sits directly below Bandon Dunes Golf Course, arguably the best golf course in America. Can you see the whiffs of sand blowing down the beach?

The kite boarders were having a great time in the wind!

Our niece, Sarah (Ken's daughter), with her 5 year old son, Gabe.
Sarah & her husband have just announced they are going to have another baby!

Gabe was a trooper, but he has been raised on Carolina beaches. He wasn't prepared for the frigid Oregon ocean.

We went to Bandon, Oregon for an ice cream and to see the pretty wharf. A woodcarver has made a very interesting octopus statue!

And a massive crab has been carved from wood! Though it was windy, there were so many people (tourists) in Bandon today.

Hmmm... how would this look painted green & yellow?

Do you think it has a washer/dryer?

Wifi?

Heated tile floors?

All the siblings (in bold) together! (I am the eldest of five.) It has been far too long since we have all been together. Two spouses and three grandchildren were missing... but all-in-all, a pretty-good turn-out. We had a great dinner tonight in Coos Bay!

Before anyone asks: I did not run. Day of Rest.

Until my next update, I remain, your relative correspondent.
