Blind Delivery

Park City, Utah: Today our adventures were on hold, as the RV Park still had no water. We didn't think we had enough water for two showers (serious mistake on our part to not keep more water on-board), so we waited... and waited... and waited. By eleven o'clock the pump was repaired. Then their system needed to be flushed. Then their cistern needed to be filled. We took this opportunity to remove the many boxes of wooden window blinds (and an assortment of Chris' tools) from the basement of our bus and load them into the Honda for delivery to Chris, just south of Provo. For those of you who have not been following along, read this.Three hundred pounds of window coverings! This adjustment in RV weight distribution should improve our fuel economy!

At one o'clock, all systems were go! DT went outside and filled four buckets from the hose bib before the water ran clear, but now we have a great water supply. We took the Camping Journal orders into the Park City post office for shipment and then made the spectacularly beautiful drive through a pass in the Wasatch Mountains to Provo. The road follows two reservoirs, rivers and goes through the pretty little town of Heber. Utah is seriously one of our most beautiful states.

Chris works in green energy for a firm in Utah and has just purchased his first home in a brand new development. It is an adorable house too - four bedrooms, bonus room, upstairs laundry, eat-in kitchen, dining & living room and a two-car garage. He moved in just a few weeks ago, but has already started working on his landscaping and irrigation system (he is an engineer - Purdue - and can't help himself).

Isn't that the cutest house you have ever seen? His Mom (our friend, Mary) is here for the week helping her #3 settle in to his first home. We had a house tour and then headed into Provo for dinner at the Chef's Table.

The meals were outstanding - truly a great restaurant and a lovely surprise in little Provo. I had the duck confit appetizer for my entree. Yummy.

Chris can play the piano as well!

Until my next update, I remain, your "thanks for the schlep" correspondent.
