Back to Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California: We just can't get enough of Leo, so we decided to stop by to see him for a few days on our way home from Dallas, Texas. We are pretty tired. An emotionally-and-physically draining day yesterday at the Cowboys Classic game in Dallas. (Not to mention a very late night for Yours Truly.) Going to Dallas-Forth Worth Airport is always a challenge. (The airport is larger than Manhattan.)

The Rose Bowl

Freakily, our flight route today took us flying over the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Is it a sign? Probably not. (FYI: I snapped the Rose Bowl photo with my iPhone.)

Look who we found waiting for us in Los Angeles? Our chubby little grandson, Leo. (His umbilical cord hasn't fallen off/out yet!) Mr. Precious was passed around between DT, me, Lisa and Lenny all afternoon. Leo did not complain.

Lisa & Leo

We invited ourselves to dinner. Lenny grilled burgers. Lisa prepared a watermelon salad with olive oil and salt. I made a three-bean salad. We dined on their pretty patio, until thunder and lightning drove us inside.

My plan for tonight is to sleep as long as possible. Hibernate. Catch up. The World Track & Field Championships ended today. No more races to watch on the internet at 3 o'clock in the morning from Korea. The games ended with a world record for the Jamaican men's 4x100m relay team! The USA team tangled with Great Britain and neither team even finished the race. I'm getting tired of this happening. The US women's 4x100m team won a gold medal. Naturally.

Until my next update, I remain, your very tired correspondent.
