Back in the Desert

Indio, California: We have arrived at our "Home-Away-from-Home", though I am no longer certain that we shouldn't switch this moniker as we are here longer than we are at our home in Oregon since Leo was born these days.

Another early departure from Bakersfield. We had a 250-mile drive and that is a very long way (over very bumpy roads) in a motorhome. We were anxious to get back to Indio.

And anxious to get our filthy RV washed.

Not only our RV is filthy. Everything in the casita is coated in a film of sandy dust. Boy, do we have our work cut-out for us over the next several days. But not tonight. We are tired. We just settled in and enjoyed the view from the front window of our motorhome:

Yeah. It's a RV park.

Pesto anyone? The basil has bolted big-time, but the hummingbirds are really enjoying the flowers. Meanwhile, in another pot... I may never have to purchase thyme again.

We have a lot of work to do this week.

Is five o'clock to early for dinner? We never did have lunch and were starving. We kinda forgot it is a three-day weekend and every restaurant in La Quinta was packed... but we remembered a little Mexican joint around the corner, found a table and enjoyed one of the best things about living in the Southern California desert - Mexican food!

A REAL margarita and Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas

I'm home!

Until my next update, I remain, your Indio correspondent.
