Borrego Springs, California: No tee times were available today due to a golf tournament, so we busied ourselves in town. Stimulating the local economy. First stop was lunch at Kendall's Cafe in "The Mall" downtown. This is the first time we have dined at Kendall's - probably best described as a coffee shop and popular for breakfast.

But... I really wanted something sweet... so later opted for the fat-free soft-serve frozen yogurt at Calico's on the other side of "The Mall". $2. Such a deal! This was a "small" and I could not begin to finish the treat. DT and I walked around the mall, went into a few shops, bought a few trinkets and a lot of postcards.
While I was on my run this morning, I noticed the "stinger" had been placed on the scorpion statue we visited the other day, so after our tour of town, we drove out to see the completed project.

SLOGGER REPORT: One of my favorite runs in Borrego Springs, the Pole Pounder! This is where I go from power pole to power pole along a nearby road - alternating between running fast and walking. Run, walk, run, walk, run, walk. 3 miles.
Until my next update, I remain, your city girl correspondent.
RV Park: The Springs in Borrego RV Resort. This place has it all. Long pull-through and a few back-in sites. All full service. Fabulous pool and spring-fed hot spring hot tubs. Rec rooms, fitness center, organized outings and happy hours, regulation 9-hole golf course and the best dog run we have ever seen. We are paying $65 per night. Ouch.
