A Lovely Cruise

Indio, California:  Much of our day was spent in preparation for The Lovely Lisa's arrival to Indio for the Coachella Music Festival. Lisa, and a group of friends, have rented a nearby house for a fun weekend of music (and partying). We stocked the fridge at the rental house and, after a quick trip to PetSmart, are ready to take-on Doggie Duty - we get our Grand Dawg, Reese, for the 3-day weekend!

Our old friends, and fellow Ducks, Mary & Jim, invited us to go on a cruise through the RV resort this evening aboard their boat! We couldn't refuse a chance to view the park from this unique angle.

Canoes, kayaks (etc) and boats are allowed at the Motorcoach Country Club - as long as the boat has an electric motor with 7.5 horsepower or less. Let's just say, no one is water skiing here. There are two miles of canals in the resort.

Anchors Aweigh!

Captain Jim at the helm! Captain Jim wants my readers to know that is iced tea in his glass and not scotch and water.

(It is scotch and water.)

Our journey took us under several bridges.

It was so interesting to see the RV sites from the water. Many owners have constructed elaborate patios, fire pits, pools and spas on their little piece of paradise. So pretty!

Here is a view of the Club House behind a foot bridge. Our cruise was so relaxing. It was such a wonderful evening. Warm - 78 degrees - with a little cloud-cover and just a slight breeze.

Look at this pretty waterfall cascading into the lake - roaring waters, and so many colorful flowers, palm trees - and art.

We could even see the Magna Peregrinus from the boat!

Thank you, friends! As Jimmy Buffett would say: it was a lovely cruise!

Late this evening, The Lovely Lisa arrived to Palm Springs with a group of friends. They stopped by our RV long enough to refuel with food and beverage - and left us with Our Grand Dawg, Reese, for the weekend.

Reese went directly to his favorite spot in our bus - DT's pillow.

The cutest dog ever!

(Okay. So maybe I don't see so well and I hold an extremely prejudiced opinion of the little mutt.)

In other news - there was an article about Deanna Meade today in The Newberry Observer. Check it out and you will learn just how supportive Deanna's friends are during her cancer treatment. Inspirational! Fight on, Dear Deanna!

Until my next update, I remain, your dog-sitting correspondent.
