We Are Still Here

Los Angeles, California: We flew down to Los Angeles last week to help-out as Lenny was going to be away/swamped at work and (a very pregnant) Lisa would appreciate a little help. We do what we can, when we can. We have helped in a big-way with Lisa's nesting checklist and... in the meanwhile, DT's college roommate, Red, arrived from his home in Chicago for work in Los Angeles, so we invited Red to Lisa & Lenny's Friday night. Lisa and Lenny also invited Leo's godmother, Angela.

We had a party.

Friday was also the day Lisa had asked me to show her how to braid Challah. I prepared the dough, but Our Girl was deep into a nap by the time it came to braid the loaves.

The lesson was a bust, but the neighbors enjoyed their gifts of freshly baked organic Challah on the Sabbath.

Lenny had chosen the Friday night menu last week to include Dinah's Original Recipe Fried Chicken. Imagine "The Colonel", except without all the greasy residue. We are super classy to serve a bucket of fried chicken to guests - but I assure you, Dinah's is Divine.

We also served a huge salad of marinated blanched green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, avocado and green olives and served icy watermelon.

And vats of chilled rose.

I may have made a miniature loaf of Challah for a certain Little Guy.

I am a bad blogger. I snapped photos of the food, but none of our guests. We had such a lovely evening, sitting outside under the Super Moon. (For some unknown reason, the air in Los Angeles has been so clear the past few days.)

Until my next update, I remain, your extra-crispy correspondent.
