Tubac, Arizona: We had ourselves another little adventure today - this one did not require dangerous driving or passing along known smuggling routes. No, this was even more perilous: being in a massive convention center, surrounded by millions and millions of dollars of gems and jewelry - and every single piece available at wholesale prices.
We went to the Tucson Gem Show! It was an amazing experience. Something I have never seen or even imagined! DT and I walked for hours and didn't cover even one tenth of the exhibitors.

Since Dave and I wore fluorescent orange badges around our necks identifying us as VIP GUESTS in huge block letters, the vendors were very friendly and answered my many questions even though we were only there to learn and drool observe - not buy.
It was like being a diabetic in a chocolate shop. Or, maybe the Pope at the Playboy mansion. Anyway, you get the idea.

After the show ended for the day, we went to dinner with Steve and Gina to El Mezon del Cobre (The Copper Inn) a good Mexican seafood restaurant. It was the perfect ending to a great day. We were so lucky to have this little glimpse into their fascinating - and colorful - world.

RV Park: De Anza RV Resort - pull-through and back-in full service gravel sites. Cable, free wifi, bath house, laundry, indoor salt water pool, hot tub, community room, TV room, gated security. Lots of fun here. We paid $40.
