Los Angeles, California: Another successful night. Another early morning. How is is possible to have so much energy? Ah... sweet youth.
The temperatures were predicted to rise to the very high 90s in Los Angeles today, so we dressed the kids in the bare-minimum of clothing for school. Leo wears the usual shorts, tee shirt and sneakers loved by warm-weather boys everywhere. Lucy has a large selection of adorable cotton frocks from which to choose. She usually decides her own wardrobe, accessories and shoes.

Gramps took me to one of My Favorite places in Los Angeles for brunch/lunch today - Fred62. Fred smokes brisket (in his parking lot!) and puts the succulent treasure into a sandwich, the Pastramid, with cole slaw, pickles and jalapenos on a potato roll. I have posted a photo of this sandwich several times on this blog because it is so divine:

Soon it was time to get Lucy from preschool. Dave has taken Leo for a treat after school the past two days, so today we decided to take Lucy for a treat as well. We told her she could have ice cream or a cookie... which to us meant Jeni's Ice Cream or back to The Village Cafe for their next Halloween treat of the day, Spooky Macaroon Cookies. Lucy decided on ice cream, so we headed to Jeni's in Los Feliz.

Dave ordered a scoop of Intelligentsia Black Cat Espresso.
After we finished our treats and exited the ice cream shop, Lucy asked if she could go get her cookie now?
Oh goodness. This girl just cracks us up!
(But, we said no.)
Leo didn't get out of school until four o'clock today. Lisa and Lenny arrived home from their little get-away just before dinner. There was a happy reunion, with the kids smothering their parents in kisses... and being kissed in return. I prepared the Cauliflower Parmesan (that I tried a few weeks ago). The casserole was served with a side of spaghetti and a nice tossed salad with little gem lettuce, red pepper and pears.
Our job is done.
Until my next update, I remain, your tired, but happy correspondent.
