Indio, California: My Sister was flying home to Portland this afternoon, so we made the most of her last day in Palm Springs - in spite of the constant sandy wind. She packed her bag and we headed west to visit the Palm Springs Art Museum. The closer we came to Palm Springs, the calmer the winds became. It was so nice in Palm Springs! We decided to forget about our planned indoor activity and instead drove up to Indian Canyons.

I'm real classy like that.

After spending an hour or two in the park, we drove back down to Palm Springs for a farewell luncheon at the Blue Coyote Grill. We really enjoyed our visit with Renee and she was a complete trooper suffering through our sand-filled air. I can report My Sister is safely back to Oregon this evening.
Back at the ranch... DT could not stand the grit and started cleaning again... actually hosing off all the furniture and drying everything with rags! It does look fabulous, but already another thin coating of grit is settling down on every surface. The air is really clearing - though the wind is still blowing a gale in Indio - so hopefully the cleaning will be a little easier tomorrow?

I forgot to post these photos I snapped of Leo Sunday morning. He has learned to "smile on command" and has a pretty funny little fake grin.

Until my next update, I remain, your well-dressed correspondent.
