Shiny

Indio, California:  The black skies of yesterday blew-away overnight and we again woke to brilliant blue. Good thing too, because at eight o'clock this morning the crew from Dynamic Mobile Detailing (760.324.0935) arrived to give the Magna Peregrinusher annual coat of wax. Seems you can't wash & wax a motorhome in the rain.

First the team washed and dried the motorhome, then wax was applied with an electronic buffer thingy... and after a bit, the wax was hand-buffed to a glorious shine.

And I mean S H I N Y. See-your-self-in-the-reflection shiny. They also treated our (8) tires.

Every inch is checked and double-checked. The cost today was $400. Important once a year investment.

Plus a little beer money for the crew.

I went again to the "Stitch & Bitch", where everyone stitches and no one bitches because what could we possibly have to complain about? I am finishing-up my needlepoint canvas and it is beautiful - but the other ladies are producing pieces of art. One woman beads gorgeous bracelets, earrings, etc., and her work is so fine/small and she uses gemstones! Another woman is knitting a scarf that would sell for hundreds on Gilt Groupe or Etsy. One women owns a needlepoint shop on the east coast and another owned a knit shop in Canada - and grew her own alpacas!

I sell a blank RV Log Book!

We had a late lunch/early dinner at the Jackalope Ranch. Today was the third or fourth time we have dined at the Jackalope Ranch and the first time we had visited during daylight hours. The restaurant building, landscaping and art are remarkable, but we just can't fall in love with the food. We heard they have a great happy hour (3-7p) with reduced priced drinks and deals on select food items. The happy hour did bring-in quite a crowd - mostly retirees looking for a cheap buzz dinner.

House Margarita, made with premium tequila, orange liquor and agave nectar.

Chopped Brisket Sandwich (basically a BBQ Beef sandwich) with fries - $8 during happy hour.

Sliced tri-tip sandwich with caramelized onions, served with house-made potato chips - also $8 during happy hour. The fillings in our sandwiches were delicious, but neither of us were very excited about the meat being served on a burger bun. Neither of us can get excited about the food at Jackalope Ranch. This visit was the first time we have had a good server though! That's a plus. I am willing to give it another try - and this time order one of their salads. I really want to like Jackalope Ranch - it is so close to our RV resort and the outdoor seating area is simply gorgeous at night - with lights on the palm trees and a huge water fall.

Until my next update, I remain, your polished correspondent.
