Canyonville, Oregon: Another long driving day, but 3 hours shorter than yesterday! Because we drove 8 long hours yesterday, we slept-in this morning until seven, lingered over coffee, we both ran and then hit the road south... but not before I snapped a few photos for my RV Park review. Durango RV Resort is very nice! I tried to take photos on December 21st, on our way south, but it was too foggy. The weather didn't exactly cooperate this morning, but at least I was able to see more than thirty feet.

After pointing our RV north, we saw a lot of this:

We stopped for the night - before it was dark - at the usual Seven Feathers RV Resort in Canyonville (exit 99 on I-5 in Southern Oregon). We love this campground - long pull-through 50-amp sites, super quiet and safe, yet close to the freeway. They offer a fabutabulous indoor heated pool and spa, fitness center, running trails and will shuttle you down to the casino if you choose to visit (we do not).

In November, I made a turkey pot pie from our Thanksgiving turkey and froze the entree for such an occasion. Vacuum-sealed, the turkey pot pie has traveled with us the entire trip, waiting for an occasion such as tonight when I am too tired to cook and too lazy to go out and too lung-conscious to go into a smoke-filled casino - no matter how low they have priced their buffet.
Now that I think of it... why do the Native American casinos allow smoking? Wouldn't you want to promote a healthier environment for your workers - most of whom are tribe members - and clientele?
I live in my own little non-smoking - chewing-gum-free - dream world, don't I?
Anyway... tonight I baked the turkey pot pie in our little oven. Did it ever smell delicious. I just love homemade and easy. Plenty of the delicious little pie left over for lunch tomorrow as well. I don't have to mention it was organic, now do I???
