Indio, California: I should have titled this column "Resting Sunday". It was good to rest-up after our fabulous Thanksgivukkah in Los Angeles with the Cutest Boy Ever. Too much food and fun!
Of course, "rest" is a relative term around here. I walked five miles and DT rode his bicycle 20+ miles. Later we visited one of our favorite haunts in La Quinta, Fisherman's Market & Grill for one of their tasty lunch specials.
Two massive tacos, with your choice of a side (slaw, chips, rice, etc.) for $7.99.Another exciting event was finally placing a University of Oregon "O" decal on our golf cart.
I bet you wished you accomplished as much as we did today.After adorning our cart, we had to take her for a spin to show-off the embellishment.
Another gorgeous sunset - this view (above) is north to Joshua Tree National Park from our campsite. The temperature climbed to 80 degrees this afternoon.
On our golf cart cruise, we spotted a Green Heron on top of a waterfall and a crane along the lakeside.I am working on a recipe for Buffalo Wings that do not require wings. Or chicken skin. Or deep-frying. My healthier version will use chicken tenders or sliced chicken breasts. Trying to cut the fat/calories out of this tailgate favorite... which we tried while watching the Redskins lose yet another game.

My first attempt (using panko bread crumbs) failed. (I mean, we ate them, but they were too gummy.) Back to the drawing board.Meanwhile back in The City of Angels... Leo is currently obsessed with horses. Oh, sorry, I meant, horsies. We gave Leo several small plastic ponies for Hanukkah and he carried the equines everywhere over the holiday weekend and slept with them each night.
