Practically Perfect

Indio, California: We know it is forthcoming we leave this paradise of a campsite and return to our home in Oregon. Why, we are not yet sure. Something about missing family... Olympic Trials... missing friends... remodeling The Lovely Lisa's bedroom to accommodate a husband and child. Whatever. Until we have to leave our new winter home, we are trying to eek-out every moment of sunny enjoyment. After working out today, we again enjoyed time at the pool and hot tub and chatted with neighbors.

The current conversation is "when are you leaving?", as most RVers are heading back to their homes for the summer. Interestingly enough, empty campsites are being filled with RV's renting campsites while attending the huge Coachella Music Festival. The supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, and bars are also benefiting from the hundreds of thousands of hipsters in town for the weekend. Several musicians choose the Motorcoach Country Club as their "home-away-from-home" during the festival. The festival is just to the south of our resort, so we can hear the music wafting all evening. Enjoyable, and if we want to know what is going on, we can stream it over the interweb... not that we have ever heard of any of the 140+ bands at Coachella because we are older than dirt.

We enjoyed a lovely evening. Temperatures were in the low 90s today. But by dinner time, we could sit outside, watch the evening news and the nightly boat parade.

We could also watch the Mariners lose. Again.

Seriously pathetic.

At least we enjoyed a delicious dinner while watching the Mariners lose yet-another game. One of my 364 favorite food bloggers - Boulder Locavore - recently posted a recipe for Toasted Pistachio Arugula Pesto with Pasta. Y'all know I am a huge fan of arugula, so this recipe was right up my alley. The only thing I changed was adding a little white wine to the pesto to make it bit more saucy, and served it tossed with fettuccine, because... well, I had fettuccine. Truly a delicious meal and very pretty too. Vegan!

What could be better than a huge bowl of pasta?

How about a few little teeny weenie earthquakes? I bet the hipsters at the festival didn't even feel the earth move, but the Magna Peregrinus enjoyed the ride.

Until my next update, I remain, your Earthy correspondent.
