Indio, California: We are living large here in the California desert. Another day with temperatures over 80 degrees.
Apparently everyone in America claims they have Irish heritage today. Instead of driving away snakes, people in this RV resort were driving around in golf carts today sporting green shirts, all sorts of crazy Leprechaun hats and green Mardi Gras beads, drinking beer.
Beer. It's not just for breakfast anymore.
I opened a can of Guinness this morning at 6 o'clock. Before you arrange for an intervention - rest assured, I poured the beer over a corned beef brisket in my crockpot. Dinner would be ready in 12 hours and all I had to was cut open a plastic bag-o'beef and open a can-o'beer. (All my "organic, free-range, grass-fed, no-hormone" crap goes out the window on March 17th each year. Sometimes a girl just wants a chemical-and-salt-laden corned beef.)
Exhausted from that effort, I went back to bed for another hour. It's still dark at 6 o'clock and this RV Goddess just doesn't do dark mornings. Plus, I was tired from my late-night baking binge from last night.
After dinner with Captain Jim & Mary yesterday, I came back to the RV to bake a yummy Chocolate Guinness Cake for a St. Paddy's Day Potluck we were attending this afternoon with the Northwest Country Coachers - a group of Country Coach motorhome owners from the Pacific Northwest. We have been members of this group since their founding, about 6 years ago, but today was the first time we have ever been able to attend a gathering!
The potluck was held at the Outdoor Resort Palm Springs - the first-ever RV resort with lots for-sale in the world. The 1200-plus site resort is now 30-years old and is still looking very good!

My kind of people.
There were some announcements on stuff/people DT and I had no idea about... but then everyone just chatted about their travels and their RVs. Since we all have basically the same RV, it was interesting conversation. Then we piled on the potluck feed bag...

Then we returned to Indio to prepare for our little St. Paddy's Party! Marci & Jim came over for corned beef & cabbage.

We really like this RV site on the end of the canal. We like the view. We like the way the sun never beats-down into the front of the coach window. We like the neighbors. We like watching the ducks on the water.
Anyone know where we could find a leprechaun with a pot of gold?
Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!
Until my next update, I remain your corny correspondent.
