Paparazzi, Tacos & March Madness

Indio, California: After our late-night cocktail party, boat ride and basketball game yesterday, it was difficult to drag myself out of bed this morning. Plus, it was so windy overnight, we didn't get a lot of sleep. We woke this morning to no wind and beautiful blue skies... and our neighbor's patio umbrella laying in the middle of the lawn outside our motorhome. Like a harpoon, the umbrella was pulled by the wind from the stand in the middle of their outdoor dining table and sent flying twenty feet!

Be careful out there, people!

I dragged myself 2 miles around the RV resort and came home to learn I have a stalker. Luckily I snagged this photo away from the paparazzi DT before it ended up on Perez.

Who is that mystery woman old fat broad hot babe jogging in the Motorcoach Country Club?

I may be old and I may be fat, but look at the soles of my running shoes:

My beloved NIKE Lunar Trainers. Dead. I killed them. I adored these shoes, but alas, they are no longer manufactured. Next I will be destroying a dandy little pair of NIKE Pegasus 27's.

Pegasus: prepare to die!

We went to Taqueria Guerrero for lunch. We did not remember about Taco Thursday (not to be confused with Taco Tuesday) where tacos are only 99¢ all day! Okay, so we had to wait fifteen minutes due to the large crowds of frugal diners...

My $1.98 lunch - two soft-shell chicken tacos - which included a basket of chips and lip-numbing hot sauce. Truly delicious. Real food.

Which so inspires me that Taqueria Guerrero had enough chutzpah to open their restaurant across the parking lot from a Taco Bell. Why anyone would go to Taco Bell when real tacos are only steps away? (PS: Did you read this about Taco Bell?)

Think outside the border.

After healthy exercise and a healthy lunch, we ruined all our efforts by going to The Beer Hunter to watch the Arizona-Duke game at 6p. There is nothing healthy (in any way) to eat at The Beer Hunter - just burgers, sandwiches and a large assortment of deep-fat-fried foods. It is good to know beer is still fat free!

Nah, I did not order the PBR, but thought you would all enjoy the lovely sign - in a Heineken holder.

I had Duke picked to win in my bracket tonight. My mistake. After all the years following the A-10 game-by-game (14 now), I surely should know to never ever ever ever discount the brilliance that is Sean Miller. The X-Men broke my (George Washington University) heart countless times. Now that Sean Miller is coaching in the Pac-10, this is one bracket loss I am happy to accept. GO WILDCATS!

Until my next update, I remain, your 50-percent-tonight correspondent.
