Borrego Springs, California: Another beautiful day in the southern California desert. No wind. Temperatures in the high 60's. No wind. Golf, anyone?

Here is a (iPhone) photo of me, Your Faithful Correspondent, in my new putting stance. My
Caddy Driver has been trying to help me putt. Truth-be-told, My Driver (and his Father before him) has been trying to help me putt since the early 1980's. I am blind in my left eye and I am very (very, very) right handed. DT has learned it is legal to putt while actually facing the hole, yet still holding the putter to the side. I tried this stance today and, dang, if it didn't take a few strokes off my score.
Don't worry, my score is still well over 100.
But imagine if I actually practice this new putting stance? I could be shooting in the 90's by the time I am 90 years old!

Here is a photo of My Caddy (who shot a very respectable 76 today) on the 9th/18th hole. How often can you get a photo of the golf course, mountains, palm trees, husband and RV in one photo???
After golf, we invited our neighbors, Rick & LaMoyne, to celebrate National Margarita Day with us.
Listen to Jimmy Buffett sing Margaritaville
Safe - hosted by your old tipsy friend, The RV Goddess
Not surprisingly, we served margaritas.... and a few tasty tidbits of the spicy cheesy Mexican variety.

Strange that America celebrates a frozen concoction in February when most of the country is covered in snow... or maybe a tropical libation is just what this country needs to warm up? Either way, no one usually has to twist my arm when cocktails are involved... especially since I still have plenty of frozen key lime juice from Brother Steve's farm!
We also enjoyed a perfectly lovely dinner. DT grilled mahi mahi (
strong strong in Hawaiian) from the Borrego Springs Farmers Market and I topped it with a spicy salsa (aka
Ro-tel) and served the fish with sauteed snap peas.

Delish!
FUN NOTE: I had an email tonight from the mother of
Kyle Roden, a baseball player at
Ballarmine University. Seems Kyle's Mom was googling for photos of the team and ran across a photo I snapped in
2009 of the team during Spring Training in Georgia. I wonder if Kyle remembers meeting us - because we certainly remember meeting his team on the beach on Tybee Island. Go Knights!
Until my next update, I remain, your
wasting away again in Margaritavillecorrespondent.
RV PARK: The Springs at Borrego RV Resort & Golf Course. One of our very favorite RV parks on the west coast. Sites are large and each has a nice cement patio and picnic table. Cement 50 amp pull-throughs will full service. There are also different varieties of citrus trees all over, so you will never be lacking for a cocktail garnish in the winter. Slow wifi. Fabulous warm pool and many hot tubs - all from their own hot springs! Fitness center, library, community rooms. Regulation 9-hole golf course. Recycling. Huge fenced dog park! We are paying $64 per night for a "premium" site.
