Indio, California: After the kids left yesterday, Dave and I hopped on our golf cart and joined friends for the twice-annual open house - Lots of Dreams - at the Motorcoach Country Club. This event showcases the new outdoor living spaces owners have built on their lots. Owners decorate, put out a spread of foods, beer, wine and let other owners "look at their stuff".
Every year the build-outs get more spectacular. Even though the size restrictions remain - it is amazing how owners, architects and designers can utilize 600 square feet. More and more owners are incorporating pools into their landscape design (even though the resort has three pools).
The trend now is to enclose the wall openings with modular sliding glass doors, so the entire room can be climate controlled with air conditioning or a vented fireplace. Where we opted for outdoor furniture, the new designs incorporate residential furniture.
What is next? A second story? A wine cellar? No one has a heliport yet.
Below, are a bunch of photos I took Sunday afternoon:

I hope you enjoyed this 20-photo tour of the Motorcoach Country Club open house. Pretty fancy!
