Indio, California: Dave and I drove over to Los Angeles today to fetch my Baby Brother and his wife (Steve & Kris, of Denver, Colorado) for a little fun-in-the-sun vacation. My Poor Bro had to drive in a blizzard from their suburban Denver home to reach Denver International.
Imagine how lovely it must have been to land in warm, sunny Los Angeles! Imagine how lovely it must have been to meet your niece's new baby girl?

After picking-up Steve and Kris from the airport, we went directly to Lisa and Lenny's. Our Sister-in-law, Kris, hardly let anyone else hold Lucy all evening. They really hit it off. Lucy is already five months old and just the sweetest girl. She is so calm and always smiling. Just the happiest baby. Lucy is also a daily fashion show - so many adorable dresses!
Lucy's big brother is very busy. Leo has morning preschool and is now growing vegetables in the garden. Lisa asked him what he wanted to grow, and Leo chose sunflowers and cucumbers.
To celebrate the mini family reunion, Lenny insisted on Dinah's Fried Chicken. Lisa baked corn bread and sauteed green beans with blistered cherry tomatoes.

We had a great time with the kids. Dave and I gave Leo his bath and then we drove back to Indio with Kris and Steve. We have a full week of exciting excursions planned. Or we may just sit by the pool and drink wine.
Stay tuned.
Until my next update, I remain, your happy correspondent.
