Surrey, England: Greetings from two very tired, jet-lagged travelers. Dave and I flew from LAX Monday evening and found ourselves in the United Kingdom noonish Tuesday.
Our great friends, Shirley & Martin, were there to fetch us from Heathrow International and drove us back to their home to rest. Neighbors in Taipei (early '80s), we have remained friends with this lovely family and have visited each other many times since our Taiwan days. Martin & Shirley attended Lisa and Lenny's wedding in Palm Springs.

After settling-in to the guest room at their home, we sat in the back garden and chatted for quite a while.
This is the view of the back from the tennis court. Yes, you heard me right - the tennis court. The oldest part of the house is 420 years "young".DT and I had a plan to stay awake until at least nine o'clock to fight jet lag, so Shirley and Martin took us for a 2.5 mile walk around Virginia Waters - a large lake, lush with landscaping, owned by the Queen. The Queen allows the public to roam in her garden and only charges for parking.
I snapped many pretty photos and will post some here and then get myself to bed.
