Golf

Borrego Springs, California: Never mind about our little cloudy weather yesterday. I honestly apologize for even mentioning our weather. Most of the country is getting pounded with horrible winter storms.

Even Taylor Manor is covered in snow and it is still snowing.

But look! People were wearing sweaters to visit the Borrego Springs Farmers Market this morning. It was 8:30a. We bought bagels and colorful eggs.

Marci & Jim drove down from Palm Springs this morning and we all - Kathy & Woody too - golfed this afternoon. I shot another 125. Isn't that so pathetic?

Oh, well, it was a beautiful sunny day and snowing at home - really nothing to complain about. Let's just say I really get a lot out of my green fees.

Gorgeous views on every hole

And... where else can you find a random boat washed-up on a golf course in the middle of a desert?

Woody and Kathy made dinner for everyone this evening. Woody made an amazing mac & cheese with tons of cheese and added kale, garlic and chilies. They also served grilled chicken sausages, veggies and - of course - there was our Julian apple pie for dessert.

We started watching the Opening Ceremonies from Sochi... but we all started yawning. Too tired from golf.

SLOGGER REPORT: No jogging; just golfing.

Until my next update, I remain, your over-par correspondent.

RV PARK: Springs at Borrego RV Resort and Golf Course - We have a paved pull-through site with full-service 50 amp. One of our very favorite RV parks on the west coast. Sites are large and each has a nice cement patio and picnic table. There are also different varieties of citrus trees all over, so you will never be lacking for a cocktail garnish in the winter. Free wifi. Fabulous warm pool and many hot tubs - all from their own hot springs! Fitness center, library, community rooms. Regulation 9-hole golf course. Recycling. Huge fenced dog park! We are paying $70 per night.
