Corning, California: We have said goodbye to family and are on the closing stretch to our house in Portland. Of course, there is a track meet in Eugene, and a few RV repairs along the way... but we have several days until our next commitment, so can take it easy and relax along our journey north.
As usual, we stopped in Corning at the Rolling Hills RV Park, arriving early enough to get-in 18 holes at their golf course - the Links at Rolling Hills.

From the golf course, we had views to snow-covered Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta. We also saw snow on the coast range mountains! After years of drought, we can't believe all the snow on the mountains in northern California. Every river is bursting the banks.
Since we teed-off late with the weekend twilight rate ($45, including cart, range balls, water, and $20 in casino play), we met few golfers on the course today - but we saw plenty of wildlife. Rabbits, red-winged blackbirds, gopher snakes, cranes, quail, turkey vultures, geese and even a few muskrat.

Persevere!
We came back to our air conditioned motorhome after golf, had a bowl of veggie soup and caught the last extra-innings of the Giants game.
Until my next update, I remain, your muskrat-loving correspondent.
