Father’s Day Party

Los Angeles, California: Lisa and Lenny invited us - and twenty of their closest friends - for a barbeque this afternoon to celebrate Father's Day. Lisa and I cooked all morning, while DT and Lenny cleaned-up the back garden and set-out folding tables/chairs for the guests. DT even washed a few windows.

The weather was again just perfect and their lovely garden provides a lot of shade in the afternoon.

The menu? Grilled truffle burgers, veggie burgers, assorted chicken sausages, mac & cheese, corn salad, fruit salad - with little organic turkey hot dogs for Leo and his little pals. I do not need to mention Lenny made his Prize Winning Onion Dip, right?

Our Girl invented this salad - corn kernels with grape tomatoes, green onion and crumbled feta with a light oil and vinegar dressing. She also baked Blondies & Brownies.

I contributed my famous mac & cheese - plain for the children, and then another version for the adults with garlic, onion, green & yellow peppers, green chilies and jalapenos.

This evening, after appetizers and catching-up with their friends, Lenny and DT grilled the meat and then we all sat down to enjoy a lovely evening meal.

Though maybe one of the hosts was a little overly excited about the party balloons (or as he says, ahboos) to eat much dinner.

We think it was a very successful party. Everyone had a good time and the food was most excellent. Lisa and Lenny have a great group of friends and we really enjoy getting to know them all - not to mention all their adorable children.

We hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day!

Until my next update, I remain, your Father's Day correspondent.
