Extended Family

Merced, California: Yesterday, DT and I drove from Corning to Merced. Yesterday, The Lovely Lisa drove from Los Angeles to Merced. Our family assembled at Dave's family home. Three of the four brothers (and their families) gathered for a wonderful meal. Mom made Chicken Enchiladas, and we had a very enjoyable evening with the family. All four nieces were in attendance! After dinner, The Lovely Lisa came back to the bus with us and spent the night (on the blow-up bed in the living area) because this morning Lisa and I were going for a run together.

I ran her into the ground. Three miles. She had to walk sometimes.

Know why? Since I run as slow as a turtle, The Lovely Lisa could walk next to me.

She is such a show-off.

This evening the Taylor Family gathered at the home of #1 Brother Billy and his wife, Ginger. Ginger's family immigrated to California from Italy and their tradition on Christmas Eve is to serve lasagna. Wow, did we eat well tonight!

We contributed a huge slab of Alder Smoked Salmon (from the Pike Street Market in Seattle), served with water biscuits and a cream cheese-caper-dill spread.

Ginger's sister, Toni, contributed a huge tossed salad with greens, avocado, kalamata olives, tomatoes and feta cheese.

Ginger's Aunt Margaret brought a cake that is so chocolaty, it is called "The Tunnel of Fudge". No kidding. I can't make this stuff up.

Fiona - Bill & Ginger's cat - was also at the party.

As was this Lovely Lass.

And our nieces (sisters) Kira and Aleria.

We hope you are all enjoying a wonderful holiday with family and friends. Until my next update, I remain, your cheerful correspondent.

RV Park:  Castle Family RV Park near Atwater, California. 8 campsites. 30/50 amp, water and sewer. No bathhouse. No pool. No hot tub. No laundry. We love it here.
