B O R I N G !
As we pulled onto I-5 this morning, after spending a night without cell service, I happily found a voice mail message from Tracy at Premier RV Resorts in Eugene. They had a cancellation! We had a spot for tonight! So happy to learn this news and so happy we did not have to drive all the way home (over 300 miles) today. Plus, we were able to make dinner plans at one of our favorite restaurants in Eugene, Marche, with some of our favorite friends. Life is good!
The weather was not very nice today. Grey skies. A little rain. We trudged-on, only stopping half-way at Seven Feathers (99 miles north of the California border - casino, truck stop, hotel, conference center and a NO VACANCY RV Park). Diesel was only $3.02 per gallon, so DT filled up, then we moved over to their super-fancy rest area and heated-up the left over soup from last night. A nice rest.
I have to comment on something we saw today. Probably everyone has seen a (dead) animal that had been killed by a car on the roadside. We've seen countless deer, coyotes, raccoons, opossum, etc. Dave and I even contributed to the road-side carnage by providing a method for a turkey vulture suicide in Texas in 2009. Today we saw a dead black bear on the side of I-5, south of Ashland. First time we had seen a dead roadside bear - and it's not like we don't get out much.
Have you seen strange animals dead on the side of the road? Maybe where you live, a dead bear is as common as a dead raccoon in Oregon? I don't know. Tell me in the comment section below.
We arrived to Eugene, pulled into our campsite and I took a walk. I get so tired sitting all day in the bus and just want to move around. I grabbed my camera and snapped a few photos. Oregon is SO SO SO green!

So cloudy.
The weather is supposed to really improve over the next few days, so hopefully we can unpack this monster of a motorhome in the sunshine instead of dripping rain.
Please.

Tomorrow I will update with the trip stats. We have enjoyed a great winter on the road. Until my next update, I remain, your Oregon correspondent.
RV PARK: Premier RV Park. I-5, exit 199. Large paved pull-throughs. Back-in sites line a small lake. Laundry, fitness center, club house, bath housed, recycling, small store. 50 amp, free wifi. This park is very popular with campers in the area for repairs/maintenance at the many nearby RV facilities. We paid $51.01 tonight.
