Elite 8

Anaheim, California:  Since the game did not begin until 3p, we had much of the day to enjoy the warm sunshine in Anaheim. Nine Duck fans met at the Anaheim Packing House for exploring and a long lunch.

This area has several buildings filled with restaurants, shops, a park, Sunday Farmers Market, and event venues.

With so many restaurants to choose from, everyone grabbed what dish sounded best and gathered at a communal table.

After pre-functioning, we Ubered over to the Honda Center for the Elite 8 West Region Final between the Oregon Ducks and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Gosh, we sure do a lot of stuff, don't we?

The Ducks lost to the Sooners, in another Sooner-Stompin' - 80-68, with 22-year-old Sooner Senior Buddy Hield scoring nearly half of the points for Oklahoma. The kid was magic. Eight 3-point shots.

I am so very proud of the Oregon Ducks. They made it into the Elite 8 and played a good game, while fighting a come-back the entire 40 minutes. They endured several missed calls by the refs, but never looked frustrated. They looked determined. The Ducks worked so hard, yet came up short. Not sure even The Dream Team would have much luck against Buddy Hield this afternoon. It was meant to be. GO DUCKS!

However, in my own biased opinion, Oregon did win for the best mascot.

The Ducks did have a lot of amazing shots... just not enough amazing shots.

The fireworks were for the victorious Sooners today. Congratulations to Oklahoma for a great game and please please please continue to do well in the Final Four!

Until my next update, I remain, your disappointed correspondent.
