At Sea: Dave and drove to the San Pedro World Cruise Center this morning, to board the Bliss - the same ship we sailed on during our Panama Canal Cruise two years ago. We are sailing the Mexican Riviera for a week with my Baby Brother Steve, and his wife, Kris (from Colorado). We are celebrating Thanksgiving, and also this week Kris turns 60! Double celebration.
Our trip started with a long traffic jam, taking us over an hour to get 40 miles from our house. Sadly, a pickup truck - towing an enclosed utility trailer - was upside-down, facing the opposite direction. People were on stretchers placed on the pavement. Police had two lanes (of four) blocked, so the slow down was merging and probably some gawking and I hope some praying.
After arriving to the ship, we learned the dockside parking lot was full and we needed to drive a few miles away to park our car (still charged us $20 per day though!) and take a (free) shuttle back to the ship. Though shuttles were constantly arriving, we decided to grab an Uber with a random stranger in line behind us, and reached the ship long before we would have boarded the shuttle.
Kris and Steve were already onboard and we had a happy reunion! So excited to spend this week cruising with my brother and celebrate a birthday. We have next-door cabins on Deck 9 with balconies on the port side of the Bliss.

After a whirlwind tour of the upper decks, we went to the Observation Lounge on Deck 15 for a cocktail and sail-away. We enjoyed a gorgeous sunset:

We will reach Cabo San Lucas Tuesday morning. I will update as I can when wifi is available.
Until my next update, I remain, your sailing correspondent.
