Chula Vista, California: Dave and I had some vague memory of a camping in a RV park in Chula Vista years ago... maybe it was called the Chula Vista RV Park... but it no longer exists, and I'd guess the massive new Gaylord Hotel down the coast from us must be on/near the old campground property. But who knows? Anyone?
Instead, I booked at this nice new place and we are both very impressed. Sites are large, paved, fully-serviced and have tables and chair or a picnic table, plus a gas fire pit with Adirondack chairs. There are very many rental cabins, a restaurant, bar, pool, two hot tubs, playground, bocce, pickleball, basketball court, video arcade, fitness center, laundry, wifi, many private bathroom/shower rooms and so many planned activities. The reception building has a nice shop for souvenirs, pool accessories, and some groceries.
As we arrived on a Wednesday, the campground was not very full and there were few children, but I went out with my trusty iphone and snapped a few photos to show y'all the joint.

There are two rows of rental units. They each have a parking space and a BBQ grill. The "backyards" line up together to form a very nice communal space in the rear of each unit.

I can't even imagine how many Adirondack chairs they had to buy!
I snapped way too many photos of the arcade and sent them off to my grandchildren. Did not send them a photo of the playground... they are waaaay too old and sophisticated for that. But the kids would love this arcade - and it is huge.

I have not written about our "new" RV! Nah, it is the same one, but after living in her nearly three months this summer, we realized we had too much stuff inside our camper. I did a major rehaul when we returned. Reorganized the cabinets and drawers. Downsized many things, and put things that belong together in convenient bins. There was a bowl dedicated to serving popcorn... when we now pop corn in a silicone microwave thing pops in its own bowl. Ridiculous. We have only been away a few days on this trip (and have no set time planned), but I am pretty sure we still have enough stuff to handle any cooking situation... but I still bring too much needlepoint.
But... after purging so many things, another was acquired. A portable smart TV. It has a 4-hour battery, is 27 inches, has a folding cover that also serves as an easel/stand. Now that we have Starlink, it changes the way we do TV. (No more satellite TV bill.) Our last RV had an outside TV in a lower bay and we missed it. While on our long trip this summer, there was a lot of baseball to watch and it had to happen inside. That's no fun! And now we watch a game outside on our verandah at home in the evening.

Dang Dodgers.
Until my next update, I remain, your Chula Vista correspondent.
