TrackTown USA: We arrived to Eugene Thursday, driving along the beautiful McKenzie River to reach the Willamette Valley, had dinner with Vin and caught-up on chores/laundry. This is the weekend for the two day Prefontaine Classic, the premier Diamond League event in America (if not the world). All the big guns are in town, and it is like a two-day mini-Olympics.
I found something interesting in the grocery store:

I didn't notice the (simplified) Mandarin on the package until I blew-up the photo. Yep, it is made in China. Do we really need ice cream made in China? Apparently, it is vanilla ice cream (with a buttery flavor) coated in a crunchy crust. There is a "bone" made of chocolate down the center. I did not purchase the ice cream, though think it is very clever, but can't help think about melamine in baby formula... so, hell no. (PS: Leo would LOVE this.)
Speaking of Leo:

The kids are still in Italy. Spending a week on Sicily and having a grand time. It is still hot, but they are at the beach nearly every day.
On the way to the Pre-Pre we fetched Mary & Steve at their hotel, which is the official meet hotel, so was all decorated for the Big Meet:

It was a great one-hour meet of races tonight - results here - and we will be back tomorrow for the big meet.

Until my next update, I remain, your Pre-correspondent.
