TrackTown, USA: It was a bit of a rest day for us - with two days away from the track. I jokingly say the two rest days are not for the athletes, but for the officials, volunteers, caterers, event staff and fans. Forget the athletes - we are exhausted. (Just kidding.) (Kinda.)
We had a short morning because we had to get our RV to the Eugene Mercedes dealer so they could figure-out why our GPS had us in the middle of the country when we were (in fact) in Eugene. I guess there has been some sort of breach in the nation-wide company that supplies all the software for 15,000 auto dealers in the US, so things are a bit of a mess at Mercedes at the moment. We left our home-away-from-home at the dealership and went to lunch with an assistant UO Athletic Director to catch-up. He took us to Sabai, which turned-out to be an incredible authentic Thai restaurant. It has been a long while since we have enjoyed such lovely Thai food. Did I take a photo? No. Too busy talking. The portions were so huge (honestly, I would not make that much food for four people), and we could not take our leftovers as we had no idea how long our RV would be held hostage. DT had fried rice, I had Pad Thai.
With nowhere to go and nothing to do, we went back to the Mercedes dealership to wait it out, but when we arrived, they were bringing our Mercedes Sprinter (with a Winnebago motorhome on top) out of the shop area. Nope, not a Mercedes problem. Mercedes says it is a Winnebago problem. (Winnebago said it was a Mercedes problem.) Know what, Smart Reader? It is our problem. It's okay. I have google maps and we also have this thing called an atlas. It's a map of the United States (Canada and Mexico) in a spiral-bound massive book. I bet we can find our way to Cleveland or Miami or Baltimore or Salt Lake City without an in-dash GPS. But the bummer is that we spent a lot of money for this RV and it would be nice if the GPS actually worked. Asking too much?
Speaking of our RV, I have posted many photos of our Navion in campsites, but few (if any) photos of the interior. Today, after returning from our unsuccessful visit to the Mercedes dealership and putting the jacks down and the slide room out, I thought maybe a few interior shots would be good... since it was a bit neat and tidy:

Here you can see the double sinks, convection-combo-microwave oven, two burner stove (one induction, one gas), fridge/freezer. Bathroom in the rear with passenger-side closet. The sofa in the back has a queen-sized murphy bed behind/above. The C-shaped dinette fits 4-6 comfortably, but to me the tables can hold plates for 2-4 (without placemats, of course).

Most people may use the above-cab area for sleeping. We use it for storage. One bin holds my needlework, one bin holds my handbags, one bin holds our bicycle stuff. Our golf clubs and camp chairs are up there. Let's face it, the overcab in our RV if for storage only.
Dinner tonight was with our old friend Rita. Rita worked with DT at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trials and we all became fast friends. Though Rita lives in DC, we still keep in constant contact and it is always a treat if we are ever in the same place at the same time. Tonight, we shared a meal, including truffle fries:

Elizabeth also joined us for a few minutes, so DT snapped a photo:

Then, randomly, long jumper Tara Davis-Woodhall walked by and said hi to us, spoke with us for several minutes. Tara showed me how to make the proper "Hook 'em Horns" hand sign for the Texas Longhorns. She actually moved my fingers into the proper position. Your thumb needs to be on the outside, people. Get it right! The ladies were in such awe, we just all went home and went to bed.
Tomorrow, we are taking day trip. Stay tuned.
Until my next update, I remain, your "I didn't rest much" correspondent.

Campground Information: Premier RV Resorts - A bit confusing, as we have a frequent-flyer discount card, but we would be paying about $78 per night (we have several nights free on this visit with our punch card). The park is full-service, with every amenity (though the pool is teeny) and is very dog-friendly - with a dog wash. Small shop with limited groceries, RV supplies, Duck stuff, ice cream and ice. It is right on I-5 so quite noisy. The most conveniently located campsite for a visit to Eugene, but is isn't really very convenient. We stay here all the time. Like, really, all the time.
I’m impressed with your smaller RV.
Question, do you have to make your bed up
every night? You have a queen bed?
Looks like the best arrangement for the size. 🥰
No! It’s just awesome. We just pull the blankets up tight and push a button. The procedure can’t take 30 seconds. The bed is a queen, and queen sheets actually fit. Guess I need to make a video of the procedure?
So….have you tried this easy (possible) fix? If your GPS unit has a tiny round hole, try inserting the point of a ball point pen into it, hold it in until the unit shuts off, then release and see if it has rebooted…..make sure you’re outdoors so the unit can get signal. It may (or may not) work, but it’s worth a try!
This isn’t only a GPS. It’s the entire control center for the radio, satellite radio, apple play, gps, climate-control, and a lot more.
