Grandbaby Fix

Los Angeles, California:  A solo trip to Los Angeles. DT has remained at The Manor. Something about a tee time and a meeting. Neither of his appointments require my presence, so I put myself on a plane to see my grandchildren.

Just a quick visit; just a few days.

Lucy (10 months) is cutting a top tooth. She is feeding herself finger-foods as fast as Lisa can put food (tonight: roasted cauliflower, roasted potatoes, pita bread with hummus and fresh tomatoes) on the high chair tray.

Happy all the time. Smiling all the time. Pulling herself up to standing. Waves bye-bye. Plays peek-a-boo like it's her job.

Her brudder, Leo (4 in August), is busy with summer camps and swimming lessons.

A charmer. Sweet, but all-boy these days. Leo will still cuddle for a moment or two and allowed me one lullaby tonight (Janis Joplin, Oh Lord, Won't You Buy Me a Mercedes-Benz... I must have crooned this song a thousand times to him.) It won't be long before that little tradition will stop. Leo's getting old enough now to realize his Bubbe can't sing.

Until my next update, I remain, your grandmotherly correspondent.
